Sophomore Cre Finfrock provided a strong outing by going 6 2/3 frames and striking out six. The Jensen Beach Fla., native only allowed one run through six frames before the Green Wave chased the righty.

The Knights had an opportunity to set the tone and strike first in the bottom of the fourth as junior Kam Gellinger delivered a one-out double to right center. The Cape Coral, Fla., native took third on a failed pickoff attempt with two outs, but would be left stranded.

Tulane (39-18) had an immediate response as Jake Willsey connected on a solo homer to left center. The Green Wave tacked on three insurance runs in the seventh inning on a two-run double to left center by Richard Carthon and RBI base hit to left by Stephen Alemais.

The victory was notched by Alex Massey (6-4), who yielded just two hits in eight-plus innings of work and striking out seven. Eric Steel recorded the final three outs.
