ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF men's tennis team upended No. 74 Western Michigan, 6-1, under the sunshine at the UCF Tennis Complex on Tuesday.

UCF came out strong against its second ranked opponent in the last three matches, as sophomores Mariano Porter and Jesse Flores posted a 6-1 win at No. 3 doubles for the Knights. The Black and Gold claimed the doubles point with a 6-3 win from sophomores Chris Barrus and Inaki Espindola on court one.

Barrus extended the UCF lead with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles. Senior Francesc Aulina's straight set win over Jeft Kecic at No. 1 singles pushed the Knights lead to 3-0. Junior Jose Sangroniz clinched the Black and Gold victory with a 6-3, 6-1 win on court two.

Porter extended his win streak to eight matches with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles, while Espindola won the tiebreaker set to claim the win on court three.

UCF travels to Statesboro, Ga. for the final road match of the regular season on Sunday. The Knights are at Georgia Southern for a 10 a.m. match.
