JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The No. 67 UCF men's tennis team came up short for the second time this weekend as Furman handed the Knights a 5-2 loss at the UNF Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon.

In doubles action, Furman opened with a win on court three, but the Knights battled back with a 6-4 win at number one from sophomores Chris Barrus and Inaki Espindola. One the decisive court two, Adam Steryous and Cameron Green defeated sophomore Reece Acree and senior Francesc Aulina, 6-4, to take the doubles point.

The Paladins extended their lead with a 6-3, 6-3 win from Matt Browne over Espindola at number two singles. Aulina cut into the Furman lead with a 6-2, 6-4 win at number one singles, but the Paladins captured wins on courts six, three to earn the 5-2 win.

UCF drops to 5-6 on the season, while Furman improves to 2-7 overall. The Knights are back in action at the UCF Tennis Complex next weekend, hosting New Mexico State at 2 p.m. on Feb. 20.
