ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFKnights.com) - The UCF men's tennis team saw a four-match winning streak snapped Friday at the UCF Tennis Complex. Tulane edged the Knights 4-3.
UCF won the doubles point to take an early 1-0 lead. But the Green Wave took four of the six singles matches to secure the victory. The Knights fell to 7-2 in dual action this season.
SInlges victories came from Inaki Espindola and Amar Hromic. With the match tied at 3-3, it came down to the final match on the court at No. 2 singles. Francesc Aulina dropped a highly-competitive match 3-6, 6-3, 3-6.
The team did a great job competing, but came up a little short today, head coach Bobby Cashman said. We will learn from this loss and get ready for a very good Buffalo team on Tuesday.
The Knights are, indeed, back in action Tuesday, hosting the University of Buffalo. The match is slated for 2 p.m. at the UCF Tennis Complex.
