ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Prior to the Thanksgiving break, the UCF baseball team wrapped up its fall workouts with the annual Knights Challenge. This grueling workout setup by head coach Terry Rooney's staff, along with strength and conditioning assistant coach Ben Fleming's assistants, started at 6:10 a.m. inside Bright House Networks Stadium and finished at home plate at the UCF baseball complex.
The competition featured 31 members of the team grouped into four squads going head-to-head against the clock to see who could complete the course in the fastest time. Senior outfielder Alex Friedrich (Orlando, Fla.) claimed the individual title for the second-straight year when he crossed home plate in 30:47. Overall, assistant coach Joe Mercadante's clan claimed the team title averaging a final time of 35:02.
