HOUSTON (UCFAthletics.com) - The No. 23 UCF women's soccer team concluded its trip to Texas Sunday by playing to a scoreless draw at Houston at Robertson Stadium. Following the 0-0 double-overtime Conference USA tie, the Knights (9-2-5, 4-1-3 C-USA) have not lost in seven-straight contests.
UCF senior goalkeeper Aline Reis (Campinas, Brazil) made eight saves against the Cougars (5-10-1, 2-5-1). She stopped five shots in the opening half. The Cougars threatened to score late in the second overtime, but Reis recorded a save on Kayla Walker's shot.
UCF opened the weekend by claiming a 1-0 victory at Rice Friday. The match against the Cougars was the fourth-straight on the road for the Knights. UCF has not played at home since Oct. 2.
Senior Tishia Jewell (Satellite Beach, Fla.), who tallied the gamewinner at Rice, attempted three shots, all on goal, against the Cougars. Fellow senior Stacie Hubbard (Jacksonville, Fla.) got off four shots, including two on goal.
Houston goalkeeper Sydney George registered six saves.
The shutout was the seventh of the year for Reis. Along with Jewell, sophomore Marissa Diggs (Rowlett, Texas) and freshman Carleigh Williams (Beverly Hills, Fla.), Reis played all 110 minutes at Houston.
UCF will return to action Friday when the Knights host UAB at 7 p.m. at the UCF Soccer Complex.
