DALLAS (UCFAthletics.com) - The No. 13 UCF women's soccer team saw its six-match unbeaten streak come to an end Friday as the Knights fell 1-0 in Conference USA play to SMU at Westcott Field. The contest was the C-USA opener for both teams.

The Mustangs (5-4-0, 1-0 C-USA) tallied the only goal of the evening at the 62:39 mark when Kaitlyn Edison deflected in a free kick from Courtney Smith.

The loss was the first for the Knights (5-2-2, 0-1) since Aug. 21.

UCF recorded 13 shots during the match, compared to only five for the Mustangs. The Knights had some chances to even the match late, but an attempt from sophomore Kristina Trujic (Venice, Fla.) was high with three minutes left, and SMU goalkeeper Courtney Webb stopped a shot by junior Bianca Joswiak (Berlin, Germany) with under two minutes to go.

The contest against the Mustangs was one of two this weekend on the road for the Knights. UCF will face Tulsa Sunday.

Webb totaled five saves in the win. UCF senior Aline Reis (Campinas, Brazil) recorded a pair of saves.

UCF's match at Tulsa will begin at 2 p.m. EST at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. The Golden Hurricane went 6-2-1 in non-conference play.
