ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF's women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 36 Florida State Wednesday at the UCF Tennis Complex. The Knights' record fell to 5-6 on the year while the Seminoles pushed their overall record to 5-4.
Florida State captured the first point of the day by claiming two of the three doubles matches. UCF was able to secure a victory at the No. 3 position, though, as Taylor Dubins and Andrea Yacaman topped Manon Veldman and Federica Suess, 8-4.
Bringing a 1-0 lead into singles, the Seminoles picked up five victories for the overall team win. UCF erased FSU's shutout bid at the No. 6 spot when Allison Hodges cruised by Veldman, 6-0, 6-3.
The Black and Gold's four-match homestand concludes March 16 at 2 p.m. when it tangles with Marquette.
