ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Coming off a convincing 5-0 victory over Jacksonville to stat the regular season, the UCF men's soccer team welcomes Florida Atlantic to Orlando Monday at 3 p.m. It will be the last time the Knights will be at home until the Conference USA opener vs. SMU Oct. 2 at 7 p.m.
UCF will look to go 2-0-0 with a victory over the Owls before starting a five-match road trip at the UNC-Wilmington Tournament Sept. 10-12. In its win against the Dolphins, Cameron Cooksey scored twice and had an assist, while Nicholas Keown-Robson netted a goal and two assists. Shawn Doyle produced four saves in goal to secure the shutout.
FAU's (0-1-0) lone match this year also was against Jacksonville, which resulted in a 2-1 overtime win for the Dolphins. FAU outshot the home team 13-12, with keeper Jeremy Crumpton making three saves.
The Knights are 17-8-2 all-time against Florida Atlantic, with their last meeting a 0-0 tie in Boca Raton a year ago. UCF's last victory over FAU was a 2-1 triumph in Orlando in 2005.
Admission to the UCF Soccer Complex Monday is free.
