ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's basketball team officially opened its 2009-10 campaign Friday evening with a two-hour session inside the UCF Practice Facility. The Knights focused on fundamentals and conditioning during the practice.

"It is great to be back on the court as a team. This is an exciting time of year for any college basketball coach," UCF head coach Kirk Speraw said. "Our guys are excited to get the season officially underway."

In typical Speraw fashion, the practice included several defensive drills. The squad also worked on free-throw shooting and ball-handling.

The Knights' season opener, Nov. 13 at the UCF Arena versus Massachusetts, is less than one month away.

UCF will return to the practice court Saturday morning.

Season tickets, which begin at just $79, are currently available by calling (407) UCF-1000 or by visiting UCFAthletics.com. The Knights will play 15 games at home this year.
