GAINESVILLE, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Kicking off its first fall tournament of 2009, the UCF women's tennis team wrapped up day one of the Gator Fall Classic at the University of Florida Friday. In her first-career singles match, freshman Allison Hodges (Germantown, Tenn.) posted a come-from-behind win over UF's Brittany Borsanyi for the Knights
Hodges suffered a 6-4 loss in the first set to Borsanyi but did not back down. The two reached a second-set tiebreak where Hodges pulled out a dramatic 13-11 victory. In a third-set super-breaker, the UCF freshman came through, claiming the 4-6, 7-6(11), 1-0(10-7) triumph.
The Knights will get day two underway in the afternoon with doubles against Florida and singles vs. Ole Miss.
