Bright House Sports Network to Feature UCF's Brown Tonight, Tuesday

March 30, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Bright House Sports Network, digital cable channel 47, will be serving up a special piece on the UCF baseball team and junior Shane Brown Monday night and Tuesday afternoon. UCF fans will be able to check out the feature on the Central Florida Sports Report tonight at 11 p.m. while it also will be available during The Lineup Tuesday at 6 p.m.

Anchor and reporter David Baumann chatted with Brown about the success he has had at the plate this season, including his 18-game hitting streak that stands as the fifth longest in Knight history. The infielder/utility man also discussed how his approach at the plate can go back to his days at Winter Park High School, where at one time he broke up a no-hitter in the final inning vs. Boone High's Austin Hudson, who also is now a junior on the UCF roster. Hudson and head coach Terry Rooney will be showcased in the feature as well.

Brown currently owns a team-best .358 batting average with eight doubles, three homers, 20 RBI and 17 runs scored.

UCF is busy preparing for another eventful week, as it will head to Stetson Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for a game to be televised by Bright House Sports Network (tape-delayed to 8 p.m.). The Black and Gold will then host North Florida Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. before traveling to Memphis for a three-game Conference USA showdown at AutoZone Park this weekend.
