UCF Radio Show to Air Monday Evening

March 16, 2009

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After a one week hiatus, the Kirk Speraw Radio Show powered by Advance Auto Parts will return to the airwaves Monday evening. The hour-long radio program, which is broadcast on the UCF-ISP Sports Network and WYGM 740 AM in Orlando, airs from Smokey Bones Bar and Fire Grill in Waterford Lakes at 6 p.m.

On this week's episode, Speraw, who is out of town, will chat via telephone with host Marc Daniels. The Knights finished the 2008-09 campaign 17-14. Last week at the league championship in Memphis, Tenn., senior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla.) earned Conference USA Player of the Week honors. He averaged 26.2 points during the year, good for third in the country.

Former UCF standout guard Mike O'Donnell, who provides color commentary at all home contests, will be on hand at Smokey Bones to review the season with Daniels.

UCF's women's squad will learn its NCAA Tournament fate this evening. Before the selection show, head coach Joi Williams will join the program via the phone to talk about her team's C-USA Championship title. The Knights claimed the crown on March 8 with a 65-54 overtime win over Southern Miss in New Orleans.

Gary Parris, the UCF football color commentator, will also phone in to discuss the Knights' spring football campaign, which begins later this week.
