Men's Soccer Steps Out of Conference for Senior Night

Oct. 30, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF men's soccer team steps outside of Conference USA play Saturday night, hosting Florida Atlantic at 7 p.m. The last home contest of the season, the game will serve as "Senior Night" for the Knights' Chris Andaur, Bryan Collier and Ryan Roushandel. UCF enters the game at 6-9-0 while FAU is currently 4-10-1.

The trio of seniors will be honored prior to kickoff and will be available for autographs after the game. Admission is free to the UCF Soccer Complex while parking is available in Garage F need. As a reminder, parking is not permissible on the sidewalks surrounding the stadium.

UCF will be looking to end a four-game slide over the past two weeks. After playing eight games in 25 days, the Knights will have had a week off before facing the Owls.

"We have had a few days off to rest some injuries, work hard in the classroom and get some training done on the practice field," said head coach Bryan Cunningham. "It will be a great opportunity to honor our three seniors and try to get a good result in their last home game."

In its last contest, UCF fell 2-0 to visiting SMU last Saturday at home. Despite the loss, sophomore goalkeeper Sean Johnson (Lilburn, Ga.) had a terrific performance in net, stopping 14 shots to break the program's record in Conference USA games. He leads the league in saves with 88 and is seventh nationally in saves per game (5.87).

Freshman Kevan George (Decatur, Ga.) continues to lead the team with four goals and nine points. Sophomore Yaron Bacher (Atlanta, Ga.), now with two goals on the seasons, has a team-high three assists and 38 shots.

FAU's Shire Standes leads the Owls with six goals this season while Gianni Piccoletti has added three markers.

The Knights lead the all-time series with the Owls 17-7-1, including a 2-1 victory at FIU on Oct. 8, 2008.
