After playing professionally for the last three years, former Knight star Ryan Roushandel joined the UCF men[apos]s soccer staff as a volunteer assistant coach in August 2012. Roushandel, who attended UCF from 2006-09, will assists with the day-to-day operations of the program, while also focusing on opponent scouting and game preparation.
After earning his bachelor[apos]s degree in 2009, the center back played for Brujas F.C. in Costa Rica and Sevilla de Puerto Rico.
Roushandel appeared in 53 matches during his three years with the Knights. As a junior, he earned NSCAA All-South Region Third Team honors and was named to the All-Conference USA Second Team after leading the Knights with eight goals. He excelled in the classroom, garnering C-USA All-Academic Team recognition and was selected as UCF[apos]s Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
