ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - During his time as UCF's point guard, Mike O'Donnell was always reliable. Whenever the Knights needed crucial 3-point shot, a clutch free throw or an on-target pass, O'Donnell was there.
Although his collegiate career concluded last March, O'Donnell will continue to assist the Knights. The Largo, Fla., native recently joined the Golden Knights Club staff as a graduate assistant. In his new role, O'Donnell will assist with donor relations.
The Golden Knights Club is the official fundraising organization of UCF Athletics.
O'Donnell began work on a master's degree at UCF yesterday. In December, he earned his bachelor's degree in organizational communications.
From 2005-08, he started 89 contests for head coach Kirk Speraw's squad. Last season O'Donnell ranked third on the team in scoring at 11.9 points per game and made 75 triples, good for eighth on the school's single-season list.
O'Donnell, who arrived at UCF in 2004 after a year at NC State, finished his career in Orlando among the program's all-time leaders in several statistical categories, including 3-point field goals (195-2nd), assists (319-5th) and steals (140-8th).
