ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - After competing in two separate events on the road last weekend, the UCF rowing team stays at home Saturday to host Miami. The regatta will get underway at 8 a.m. and take place on the Knights' home course, Lake Pickett.
UCF is coming off a trip to Texas where it won 11 of 16 events in the Longhorn Invitational, which was the first regatta that the Knights' varsity 8+ boat participated in this year. The Black and Gold's lightweight boats were represented at the Petrakis Cup and the Knights came away with three first-place performances in four events.
This Saturday's meeting with Miami kicks off with the first, second and third novice 8+ squads taking the water at 8 a.m., following by the first and second varsity 4+ boats at 8:15 a.m. The second varsity 8+ and lightweight 8+ will see action at 8:30 a.m. with the varsity 8+ race wrapping up the morning at 8:45 a.m.
