March 1, 2008

Recap | Final Stats

? Prior to the game, head coach Kirk Speraw and the UCF coaching staff recognized the squad's five seniors. Mike Battle, Stanley Billings, Chip Cartwright, Dave Noel and Mike O'Donnell were all playing at home for the final time.

? All five seniors earned spots in the starting lineup. The starting nods were the first for both Battle and Cartwright, who are in their second campaigns with the Knights.

? Jermaine Taylor paced the Knights with 20 points against the Owls. He has scored 593 points this year, the most by a player in a single-season since UCF joined the Division I ranks in 1984. Mark Jones had the previous high, totaling 581 points in 1997-98.

? Taylor's points total in 2007-08 is ninth on the school's single-season register. He has led the team in scoring in 23 of the team's 28 contests.

? With the victory, UCF improved to 12-4 at home this season.

? The contest was played in front of 5,606 fans, good for fourth on UCF's single-game list. Ten of the top-12 crowds in program history have been recorded this year in the Knights' inaugural campaign at the new UCF Arena.

? Dave Noel's 19 points were one shy of matching his career high. He scored 13 of his points before halftime.

? Stanley Billings matched his career high with four blocked shots as the Knights recorded seven swats.

? UCF improved to 4-2 all-time against the Owls.

? The contest served as only the third Conference USA Saturday home game for the Knights this season.
