ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - In UCF's win at Rice on Feb. 16, senior guard Mike O'Donnell (Largo, Fla./Largo) did not need to have a great offensive performance in order for the Knights to be successful against the Owls. He attempted just four field goals and scored only two points as junior guard Jermaine Taylor (Tavares, Fla./Tavares) recorded 22 points to help the team record the Conference USA victory.
In UCF's two contests since the game at Rice, O'Donnell has been nearly perfect for head coach Kirk Speraw on offense. In games against East Carolina and Marshall, he averaged 21.0 points and 4.0 assists.
O'Donnell drained 10 3-pointers during the span and committed just two turnovers.
With 69 triples on the year, the point guard now ranks eighth on the school's single-season register. In just his third campaign with the Knights after transferring from NC State, O'Donnell is second all-time at UCF with 189 3-pointers.
As the season nears its completion, O'Donnell is not likely to catch the school's all-time leader in the category, Jason Thornton (220), but he has still made his mark on the program's career record book.
The Knights' next game is set for Wednesday at home against Tulane. Tip-off at the new UCF Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m.
UCF has four regular-season contests remaining, with two coming at home.

Notes: Following their contest at Marshall on Saturday, the Knights headed to Columbus, Ohio. The squad left the Buckeye State early Sunday morning, arriving in Orlando at 9:30 a.m... After making 2-of-3 attempts from behind-the-arc at Marshall, senior guard Dave Noel (Boynton Beach, Fla./Boynton Beach) now paces C-USA in 3-point field goal percentage (47.1).
