Oct. 26, 2007

Orlando, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - The UCF women's golf team travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for its final tournament of the fall season this weekend when the Knights will take on an 18-team field at the UA-Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate. The three-day, 54-hole event will be staged at the NorthRiver Golf Club with action set to begin on Friday at 8 a.m.

The Knights will feature a line-up of sophomore Sara Hurwitch (Potomac Falls, Va./Dominion), junior May Tomimbang (Kissimmee, Fla./Gateway), freshman Jessy Tang (Miami, Fla./Olympia) along with sophomores Victoria Tomko (Lontzen, Belgium/The Pendleton School) and Leigh Crosby (Athens, Ga./Oconee).

For Crosby, it is her first event of the fall, while Tang returns to the line-up after sitting out the Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship in Knoxville last weekend.

The 18-team field will provide another strong test for the Knights as half of the field is made up of Southeastern Conference teams. Five teams are ranked inside the Golfstat top 25 and three are in the top 10: Florida (5), Arkansas (6) and Auburn (7).

Tournament play continues Saturday with round two action and concludes on Sunday with the third and final round. Live stats are available on www.golfstat.com.
