May Tomimbang is a hard-working golfer with tremendous potential. She is looking for more consistency in her game after some highs and lows a year ago. She has the ability to be among the team leaders in stroke average.
Spring 2007: Finished in a tie for 39th place in the Florida State Championship...Competed in the UCF Challenge finishing in a tie for 51st place.
Fall 2006: Competed in all four fall events, posting a stroke average of 79.09 and one top-20 performance...Tied for 89th at the NCAA Fall Preview...UCF[apos]s leading golfer at the Wildcat Invitational, tying for 16th...Carded an even-par 72 in the first round of the Lady Pirate Invitational, eventually tying for 22nd...Finished in a tie for 47th at the Auburn Derby.
As a Freshman (2005-06): Tomimbang had a solid freshman campaign, qualifying for five of the 10 events. She showed flashes of brilliance, registering top-20 finishes at the Stetson Invitational and the UCF Invitational. She tied for 17th in both events. She posted a stroke average of 79.64 and her best round of the year was a 2-over 75 in the final round of the Pat Bradley Championship in Kendall, Fla. She made her debut in the third tournament of the year at the Ross Resorts Invitational in North Carolina. She made appearances in five consecutive events before missing the final three of the year.
Prior to UCF: Tomimbang was a four-time all-state and all-conference performer at Gateway High School. She also earned four MVP awards and was named the Orlando Sentinel Player of the Year as a sophomore in 2002. She won four district championships and three regional championships at Gateway. She was a decorated junior golfer, earning one win and two runner-up finishes on the Future Collegians World Tour. She also picked up a win at a Florida Junior Golf Association event. On the American Junior Golf Association circuit, she registered one win, a pair of top-fives and a top-10. She also placed fourth at the Doral Publix Championship in 2003. She qualified for the U.S. Amateur in 2004 and advanced to the first round of match play. She shot a 9-under-par 63 in the final round to finish runner-up at a FCWT event at Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills.
Personal: Mayule Tomimbang was born in Manila, Philippines, and is the daughter of Wendell and Rosalinda Tomimbang. She is an engineering technology major.
