O'Donnell, Speraw to Appear at C-USA Event

Oct. 10, 2007

ORLANDO, Fla. (www.ucfathletics.com) - UCF men's basketball head coach Kirk Speraw and senior guard Mike O'Donnell will both be in attendance at Conference USA's Basketball Media Day on Thursday in Memphis, Tenn. For the second-straight year, the event is being held at the FedEx Forum.

Speraw and O'Donnell will both appear on the "C-USA Men's Basketball Media Slam" on CSTV. The program, which features interviews with all 12 league head coaches and players from several squads, begins at 6 p.m. Eastern. The Knights will be featured at the start of the show.

The program and other events at media day will be streamed on the C-USA web site, www.conferenceusa.com.

The 2007-08 campaign will serve as the Knights' first at the 10,000-seat new UCF Arena. UCF will play 16 regular-season games at facility, including the inaugural contest against Nevada, which is set for Nov. 11.

The Knights went 22-9 overall and 11-5 to finish second in C-USA a year ago. Following the regular season, Speraw was named the league's coach of the year.

O'Donnell is one of three starters back for UCF. Last season, the point guard averaged 10.3 points and shot 43 percent from 3-point range, which ranked second in the conference.

Season tickets are currently available by calling 407-UCF-1000. One lucky season ticket holder for the upcoming campaign will get to drive home from the new UCF Arena in a brand new Mazda CX-9, courtesy of Classic Mazda, the presenting sponsor of this year's season ticket drive. UCF basketball fans that purchase two season tickets for this year's inaugural schedule at the new UCF Arena will be entered into a drawing to win the Mazda CX-9.
