? During his collegiate playing career at Iowa from 1975-79, UCF head coach Kirk Speraw and the Hawkeyes went 2-1 versus Big Ten rival Minnesota in Minneapolis.

? As a junior at Florida in 1993, UCF assistant coach Craig Brown and his teammates faced Minnesota in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament. The game was played at the Target Center in Minneapolis and the Golden Gophers posted a 74-66 victory.
