Final Stats

ORLANDO - A late second half goal by freshman Braden Fleak gave Wright State a 3-2 win over host UCF in men's soccer action at the UCF Soccer Complex on Sunday afternoon.

The Raiders (4-2-0) opened up scoring in the 21st minute when sophomore Michael Conley crossed the ball to senior Johan Baskin in the box and Baskin sent a bullet into the top of the net.

WSU held onto the lead until the second half. In the 54th minute, UCF freshman Cam Jordan's (Fort Wayne, Ind./Canterbury HS) original shot was stopped by Raider goalkeeper Tebias Mason before junior James Georgeff (New Castle, Australia) sent it to sophomore Zak Boggs (Vienna, W.Va./The Pendleton School), who found the back of the net.

In the 66th minute, sophomore Josh Grossman put Wright State back on top when he scored off a free kick, but sophomore Ryan Roushandel (Atlanta, Ga./Marist School) tied the game just four minutes later with an assist to freshman Andy Masteller (St. John, Ind./Andrean HS).

Breaking in alone, Boggs hit the post in the 70th minute before Fleak connected from the top right corner of the box. Grossman assisted.

UCF outshot Wright State by a margin of 18-11, including an 11-5 advantage in the second half. Mason stopped seven shots to earn the win, while sophomore goalkeeper Marcus Rein (Scotts Valley, Calif./Edison Academic Center) made four saves for the Golden Knights.

The Golden Knights (1-5-0) return to action when they travel to Spartanburg, S.C. for a neutral site contest against Furman.
