Ashley Grier posted a 2-over-par 74 Sunday and claimed a share of second place, but it was not enough to keep UCF from dropping to seventh in the final team standings of the Ryder Florida Women's Collegiate Golf Championship at Don Shula's Golf Club. Florida State won the 12-team event by six shots over Rollins, while South Florida finished third and Florida International finished fourth.

UCF, which began the day in sixth, shot the second-lowest round of the day Sunday with a 9-over-par 297. That round was eclipsed only by Miami's 5-over-par 293, which gave the Hurricanes a one-stroke margin over UCF in the final standings.

"We played solid golf today," UCF coach Emilee Klein said. "We started the tournament slowly, but got better each round. We need to work on starting better, but I'm excited about the way we are playing heading into the conference tournament."

Charlotte Campbell from Rollins shot a final-round 74 and finished the 54-hole event at 5-over-par, winning medalist honors by one shot over a trio of golfers that included Grier and Caroline Westrup and Jaclyn Burch from Florida State. The second-place finish is the best of the year for Grier, who finished third two weeks ago at the Waterlefe Invitational.

Holly Boot was UCF's next-highest finisher. She posted a 3-over-par 75 Sunday and tied for 21st. Kristy McLaughlin and Annabel Silk matched Grier's 74 Sunday. McLaughlin tied for 32nd and Silk finished alone in 34th. Jessica Trein finished 36th after carding a 10-over-par 82 Sunday.

UCF returns to action to compete for the Conference USA title in Greenville, N.C. April 16-18.
