Holly Boot is expected to provide leadership for the Golden Knights this season. She has the most experience of any UCF golfer with 76 rounds of college competition to her credit. She is a steady golfer who has improved each year at UCF.
Spring 2007: Competed as an individual in the UCF Challenge with a low of 76 on round two.
Fall 2006: Represented UCF in the first two tournaments, and had a stroke average of 82.33...Tied for 86th at the NCAA Fall Preview...Placed in a tie for 55th at the Wildcat Invitational.
As a Junior (2005-06): Boot made great strides in competition, lowering her stroke average by more than three shots per round from that of her sophomore year. She led the team with a 78.07 stroke average and registered three top-20 finishes, earning third-team All-Conference USA honors for her play. Her best finish came in the Waterlefe Invitational where she tied for seventh. She registered top-20 finishes with a team-leading tie for 13th at the Pat Bradley Championship and a tie for 16th at the Conference USA Championship. Her best round of the year was an even-par 73 at the Pat Bradley. She was one of only two UCF golfers to compete in all 10 tournaments.
As a Sophomore (2004-05): Boot played in all 11 events on the year and improved her stroke average by more than one stroke from her freshman campaign. She saved her best finish for last, registering an 18th-place finish at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship. Her low round of the year was a 2-over 74 in the opening round of the Ryder Florida State Championship in Miami. She shot 75 on two other occasions. She was UCF[apos]s second-highest finisher at the Miccosukee Championship in Kendall, Fla., where she tied for 41st.
As a Freshman (2003-04): Boot finished fourth on the team in stroke average at 82.64. She played in only six events on the year, but played in the entire spring schedule. She finished as UCF[apos]s third golfer in three of the five events on spring schedule. Her best round of the year was a 4-over 76 in the opening round of the Waterlefe/USF Invitational. She went on to post a season-best finish when she tied for 21st at that event. She finished the season with a team best 5-over 77 in the final round of the Atlantic Sun Championship at Campbell University.
Prior to UCF: Boot was a four-time all-county performer at Barron Collier High School in Naples. She was a three-time team MVP, two-time all-conference performer and two-time team captain. She also lettered four years in golf and competitive cheerleading. She posted a top-five regional finish as a senior. She also garnered a top-five finish at districts her final year on the prep level.
Personal: Holly Michelle Boot was born in Ridgewood, N.J., and is the daughter of David and Cheryl Boot. She is a sports and fitness major.
