Ashley Grier, Jessica Trein and Holly Boot each shot identical rounds of 4-over-par 76 Friday to lead UCF as the Golden Knights posted a team score of 22-over-par 310 and are in sixth place after the first round of the Ryder Florida Women's Collegiate Golf Championship at Don Shula's Golf Club. Rollins leads the 12-team field by two shots over Florida State after carding a team score of 10-over-par 298.

South Florida is in third at 16-over-par, followed by Florida Southern and FIU, which are tied for fourth at 18-over-par. Defending champion Miami is in seventh place, 12 shots behind UCF.

Rollins' Vanessa Vela fired a 2-under-par 70 Friday to take a two stroke lead over teammate Charlotte Campbell and Florida International's Rebecca Samuelsson in the individual standings. The trio of Grier, Trein and Boot are tied for ninth.

Kristy McLaughlin shot a 10-over-par 82 and is tied for 41st, while Annabel Silk shot an 11-over-par 83 and is tied for 43rd.

Saturday's play shifts to the afternoon as the teams are scheduled for a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. UCF will be paired with Florida Southern and FIU in the second round.
