Kathy Les begins her first season as an assistant coach for the UCF rowing team in August 2016 after spending five seasons at Colgate.
Les served as an assistant coach at Colgate, where she also worked on the event management and facilities staff. She managed a number of day-to-day operations for the Raiders including compliance, equipment and practice planning.
While with the Raiders, she was responsible for the novice and junior varsity rowers, inclduign the varsity 4 and second varsity 8.
Les began her coaching career at UConn, where she was the volunteer assistant coach from 2009-11. Prior to coaching, Les was a four-year member of the Huskies rowing team and a team captain her senior season. She earned the Drive Award three years in a row from 2007-09.
A native of South Windsor, Conn., Les earned her bachelor’s degree in ecology and evolutionary biology and her master’s degree in exercise science from Connecticut in 2009 and 2011, respectively. She competes as an amateur powerlifter and already owns four first-place finishes.
