Three-time Olympian DeeDee Trotter joined the Knights as a volunteer assistant coach in 2013 after spending a year training alongside the team under the guidance of UCF head coach Caryl Smith Gilbert as she prepared for the 2012 London Olympic Games.
Trotter won her first individual Olympic medal with her bronze finish in the 400 meters at the 2012 Summer Games. She is also a two-time Olympic 4x400 relay gold medalist and a three-time 4x400 relay World Champion.
A former NCAA 400M champion at Tennessee, Trotter won her first USA title in the 400M in 2005 with a dominant performance of 52.01 to post the fastest time at the USA Indoor Championships since Jearl Miles-Clark ran 51.97 to win in 1999. She is a three-time USA champion as well as a three-time USA Outdoor runner-up.
Trotter is the founder of Test Me I[apos]m Clean, a charity that focuses on fighting the abuse of steroids and other performance enhancing drugs.
