ORLANDO – Hanna Hearn, a former University of Michigan sprinter, has joined the UCF Track and Field program as an assistant coach, Head Coach Dana Boone announced.
"We are excited to welcome Coach Hearn to UCF. I’m glad we can be the first stop on her coaching journey as a young coach. I’m looking forward to working with her and watching her develop," said Head Coach Dana Boone
The position marks Hearn’s first collegiate coaching opportunity. She previously worked with high school track and field athletes, specializing in speed development and biomechanics.
Hearn, a Michigan graduate, began her collegiate career at Eastern Michigan, where she recorded a personal-best 7.46 seconds in the 60-meter dash, before transferring to the Wolverines her sophomore year, where she would compete for three seasons.
In 2023, Hearn helped Michigan sweep the Big Ten indoor and outdoor team championships. She also ran on the Wolverines’ 4x100-meter relay team that broke the school record at UCF’s Black and Gold Invitational.
“Joining the UCF staff means breaking barriers that were once placed in front of a young girl from Laurel, Mississippi,” Hearn said. “It means creating an impact, opening doors and paving the way for those who may not yet believe they have a chance to make it this far. I’m extremely grateful for this opportunity at UCF, and I’m excited to be part of a program that has so much greatness ahead. I’m ready to help build something special and make an impact that extends far beyond the track.”
