Mark McGuigan joined the UCF men[apos]s tennis staff as an assistant coach in December 2013 after spending three years as the women[apos]s head coach at the University of Montevallo.
McGuigan guided the Falcons to 10 wins during the 2013 season, including a program record three Peach Belt Conference victories and the first win over a nationally-ranked team in program history. He helped one of his players finish the year ranked in the ITA regional top-20 singles rankings and coached a pair of Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team members.
McGuigan came to Montevallo after serving as an assistant coach for the men[apos]s and women[apos]s tennis programs at West Florida for three seasons. He helped coach the Argonauts to the NCAA Tournament all three years as an assistant. In 2008 the UWF women[apos]s program was a national quarterfinalist while the men were national semifinalists. In 2009 the men and women were regional finalists while the women won the Gulf South Conference title. In 2010, both squads were regional finalists.
McGuigan played four years at UWF and was part of two national championship teams: 2004 and 2005. He also was part of GSC Championship teams in 2005 and 2006. In 2006 and 2007, McGuigan helped the Argonauts advance to the national semifinals.
He is a 2008 graduate of West Florida, where he received a bachelor[apos]s degree in health and physical education.
