Volleyball Falls in Four Sets to No. 21 Baylor in Waco

WACO, Texas - In the first of two-consecutive top-25 matchups, UCF volleyball fell to No. 21 Baylor 3-1 at the Ferrell Center on Friday night.

Baylor jumped out to an early advantage heading into the first media timeout as the Bears made their presence felt at the net with multiple key blocks. Kills from Ella Chapman and Avah Armour kept the Knights within striking distance, though the hosts maintained the lead throughout to take the set, 25-16.

Four Knights fired home multiple kills in the first set, and Armour and Cohen got off the mark early in the second. Similar to the first, a few runs from Baylor set them towards a 25-16 win to double its lead.

Cohen, who boasted four kills in the second set, set the tone in the third as the Black and Gold tried to get back in the contest. After taking a 15-13 lead into the media timeout, UCF withstood a few runs from Baylor as the set came down to the wire.

Sophomore Nygeria Hart provided a key kill to give the Knights their first set point, and while Kiki Horne put UCF on the brink again, it would Armour provide the final blow to claim the third set, 27-25.

Baylor bounced back in the fourth, taking a 20-15 lead before the Knights pulled within one on the back of a pair of Cohen kills and errors from the Bears. While Hart came in clutch with another kill down the stretch, the hosts took the set and the match.
