Orlando - After a weekend at the Stacey Clark Classic, strong performances from Avah Armour and Abby Schomers have named them to the All Tournament team.
The tournament marked the last two matches before the Knights commenced Big 12 action against Kansas State on Thursday. Following a sweep against UAlbany and a challenging match against #11 Purdue, UCF’s non-conference record ended at 8-2.
Armour kept a consistent three kills per set against UAlbany, along with an ace, totaling 10 points. She rose to the challenge against the 11th-ranked Boilermakers, totaling 12 kills and an ace, ending with 13 points during the bout. Armour totaled a team-high 23 points throughout the weekend.
Armour continues to be one of the best players within the Big 12, as she ranks seventh in points per set, averaging 4.65, and tenth in kills per set with 3.94.
Last weekend marked Schomers’s second time being recognized this season during a tournament, as she was MVP of the Black & Gold Classic earlier this year. During the matchup with UAlbany, she had her second highest assists per set this season against Great Danes with 14 assists in both the second and third sets.
Schomers ranks second in assists per set within the Big 12, with an average of 10.36 assists.
