NORMAN, Okla. – UCF women’s golf secured a top-10 finish at the Schooner Classic, placing eighth at three-over for the tournament. The Knights delivered a consistent performance throughout the weekend, holding eighth place at the end of each round.
Kinga Kusmierska led the way for the Knights, earning her first top-10 finish of the season with a 205 (-5). After opening the tournament with rounds of 68 (-2) and 71 (+1), Kusmierska saved her best performance for Monday, firing a 66 (-4) to climb 12 spots on the leaderboard and finish tied for 10th. Her final round was highlighted by a hole-in-one on the par-3 eighth, along with five birdies, including four over her final six holes.
Ayana Hiranaka and Mila Jurine each finished tied for 33rd at 1-over. Hiranaka followed rounds of 71 (+1) and 67 (-3) with a 73 (+3) on Monday to finish with a 211. Jurine also finished with a 211 after carding rounds of 71 (+1), 70 (E) and 70 (E). She closed the weekend with a 70 (E), Jurine tied for fifth for the most birdies on the weekend with 13.
Molly Smith finished tied for 55th with a 217 (+7). Smith opened the tournament with rounds of 71 (+1) and 70 (E) before closing with a 76 (+6) in the final round.
Tiffany Tsai finished tied for 72th at 12-over after rounds of 75 (+5), 72 (+2) and 75 (+5) for a 220 (+12).
The Knights will return to the course on Monday, Oct. 12, at Medinah Country Club for the Illini Invitational, hosted by the University of Illinois.
