Armour Named to 2026 Big 12 Preseason Team as Unanimous Selection

ORLANDO - As her historic 2025 season placed her across the record books, Avah Armour will now embark on her senior season as a member of the Big 12 Preseason Team, the conference office announced this morning.

One of eight unanimous selections on the 19-athlete list, the Knight is one of 11 who secured All-Big 12 First Team honors a season ago to feature on the conference’s preseason team. The selection marks the second-consecutive campaign that the Colorado native has landed on the squad.

Armour is one of three seniors on UCF’s 2026 roster, as both her and setter Abby Schomers return for their fourth season together.

In 2025, the then-junior backed up her preseason placement with one of the most prolific campaigns in the program history, eventually securing an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention honor, becoming the ninth Knight to achieve the feat.

She rose to occasion in Big 12 play, landing on the First Team while also being declared the conference's Scholar Athlete of the Year, an academic tribute that also saw Armour be named a CSC Academic All-American.

2025 Season Quick Hits

  • Paced the Knights in multiple major categories, including a career-high 457 kills and 513 points. Also set a career mark with 208 digs and 46 blocks.
  • Became the 12th player in program history to eclipse the 500-point milestone
  • Armour elevated her play in conference action, finishing fourth in the Big 12 in points per set during league matches (3.75) while consistently delivering against top-tier competition
  • Her season-long average of 4.35 kills per set ranked seventh in the conference and 32nd nationally
  • Armour recorded double-digit kills in 26 of 29 matches, including a stretch of 14 consecutive contests from Sept. 19 to Nov. 8
  • Her signature outing came in a five-set battle in her home state of Colorado, where she erupted for 30 kills and 34.5 points against the Buffaloes.
  • Armour registered five matches with at least 20 kills, highlighted by three straight performances against Houston (28), Texas Tech (27), and BYU (25)
  • Ranked second on the team in digs (208) and fifth in blocks (46), underscoring her impact beyond the attack.

Armour’s career kill tally of 960 placed her within striking distance of the top-10 all-time chart at UCF, as she already sits eighth in kills per set with 3.42.

Armour and the Knights commence their 2026 campaign on Friday, August 28, against Robert Morris at 7 p.m., kickstarting the Black & Gold Classic which will also see them matchup against Stony Brook and NC State.
