ORLANDO - Following a stellar senior campaign, her first at UCF under new head coach Matt Botsford, Reaghan Thompson has taken the next step in her career, signing a professional contract with MAV Elore Foxconn of the Hungarian league.
The team begins play in October, before alternating with the Challenge Cup against Europe's top outlets.
Thompson, who transferred to UCF after three dominant seasons at Northwestern State under the guidance of current assistant Sean Kiracofe, the versatile Knight made her mark across the court.
The Texas native featured in all 29 matches and all 105 sets (one of three Knights to do so) during the campaign, leading the Knights in total blocks (110) and blocks per set (1.05).
Offensively, the graduate ranked third in kills (195) and third in points (253.5), while also boasting the second-best hitting percentage on the team (0.272).
Her defensive prowess placed her 13th in the Big 12 in total blocks and 15th in blocks per set, along with making history as the first UCF player to take home a weekly Big 12 award, garnering Defensive Player of the Week honors twice.
Thompson concluded her career as the only active player in DI to have attained 900-plus kills and 400-plus blocks, along with being one of four players with 450-plus blocks and 900-plus kills.
