UCF Women's Golf in Fifth Place After Day One of NCAA Regionals

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The UCF women's golf team finished the first round of NCAA Ann Arbor Regionals in fifth place with a team score of 287 (+3). The Knights sit behind No. 10 Duke leading into the second round. 

One Kashima and Pimpisa Sisutham are tied for 11th after day one. Kashima played with consistency in her first round, with 13 pars she carded a 70 (+1) to begin play. Sisutham had a slow start to the morning, carding two bogeys in her first three holes but went on to secure two birdies and an eagle on hole 13 to finish at 70 (+1). 

The Knights kickstarted their round with all five players shooting a birdie on hole 4, the only team to have every player birdie the same hole. Mila Jurine is tied for 27th place after shooting 73 (+2), she carded 4 birdies on the day and finished the front nine one under-par. 

Molly Smith finished tied for 32rd, after 7 pars on the front nine. Smith shot a 74 (+3) in the first round, hoping to take a strong momentum into the second. Tiffany Tsai carded a 76 (+5) on the day, with a difficult back nine. She sits tied for 51st leading into round two. 

The Knights will tee off for Round 2 of the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional on Tuesday, May 12 at 8 a.m. on hole No. 10, as they hope to continue their strong momentum into the rest of the week.
