ORLANDO - UCF men’s basketball standouts Themus Fulks and Riley Kugel will participate in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, held April 15–18 at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Since 1953, the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament has invited 64 senior college basketball players from across the nation to compete in front of professional scouts. The event features eight teams of eight players competing in a 12-game tournament over four days, as participants showcase their talents in pursuit of professional careers.

Over the years, the tournament has featured numerous future NBA standouts, including Scottie Pippen, Tim Hardaway, Dennis Rodman, Jimmy Butler, Rick Barry, Earl “The Pearl” Monroe and Dave Cowens.

Fulks concluded his UCF career with 1,658 points across five seasons. He set the program’s single-season assist record with 222 and tied for third in single-game assists with 13.

Kugel finished his senior season with 445 points in 31 games, leading the Knights in scoring at 14.4 points per game. He also made an impact defensively, totaling 32 steals on the season.

Both Fulks and Kugel earned Big 12 Starting Five honors during the season. Kugel received the recognition in Week 9 after scoring 19 points in UCF’s win over Kansas. Fulks earned the honor in Weeks 11, 13 and 16 and was later named to the All-Big 12 Third Team.
