ORLANDO – After a perfect 2-0 start to conference play, the UCF women’s tennis team has reappeared in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, as announced on Tuesday afternoon.

The Knights opened Big 12 action strong this past weekend, upsetting both the then-No. 29 BYU Cougars 4-1 on Thursday, Feb. 26, before sweeping the then-No. 35 Utah Utes, 4-0 on Sunday, Feb. 28.

The Knights wasted no time taking care of business with BYU, securing the doubles point to take the early advantage. Lauren Seye and Jade Psonka each secured a quick victory on their courts to push the Knights up 3-0, and although the Cougars took a point back on court one, any hope of a comeback was short-lived as Jantje Tilbuerger defeated Kendall Kovick, 6-1, 7-6 (7-5), to secure UCF’s first Big 12 win of the season.

On Sunday, against Utah, the Black and Gold were dominant from start to finish, taking the doubles point with swift 6-0 and 6-1 victories on courts three and one, respectively. Seye was once again the first to secure a point in singles action with a 6-1, 6-0 win on court five, while Psonka followed shortly with a victory on court six (6-6, 6-0). Tilbuerger once again was the closer for the Knights on court two to earn them their second conference victory of the season, blanking Utah, 4-0.

The Knights have now won 18-straight matches at home, and have not lost a Big 12 match at USTA National Campus since April 7, 2024, when they were bested by then-No. 1 Oklahoma State 4-3.

Seye and Olivia Bergler remained in the latest ITA ranking as well, slotting in at No. 80. The pair boasts a clean 5-0 record so far this dual-match season, primarily holding down court two for the Black and Gold.
