HOUSTON, Texas – The No. 21 women’s tennis team picked up its third Big 12 road win on Saturday afternoon, defeating No. 43 Houston, 4-1, at the Barbara Wallace Winston Tennis Facility. 

The Knights improved to 14-3 overall with 7-2 in conference play with the victory, while the Cougars fell to 13-5 and 4-5 in conference play.

The Knights set the tone early, sweeping the doubles point. The tandem of Olivia Bergler and Lauren Seye delivered a dominant 6-1 win on court two, before Jade Psnoka and Vladislava Andreevskaya quickly clinched the point with a 6-2 victory on court three. 

In singles, Houston evened the match at 1-1 with a straight-sets win on court six, but the Knights quickly regained control. Bergler put UCF back in front with a gritty 6-4, 7-5 win on court two, followed by a strong three-set win from Tilbuerger, 6-1, 2-6, 6-1, on court one to extend the lead to 3-1.

The match marks Tilbuergers' first collegiate career victory on court one while extending her win streak to 11 straight matches. The senior remains undefeated in Big 12 action, while holding an impressive 14-2 overall record this dual-match season.

Gatell sealed the team's win on court three, bouncing back from a second-set setback to secure a 6-3, 0-6, 6-2 clincher. The win marked the tenth dual-match season victory for the freshman and her fifth clinch this season.

Both Andreevskaya and Psonka led on their respective courts at the time the match was halted.

The Knights will return to the USTA National Campus for their final two home games of the season, facing No. 73 Kansas State on Friday, April 3, and No. 25 Oklahoma State for their senior day on Sunday, April 5.
