ORLANDO – The No. 15 UCF softball team dropped game two of its weekend series to the Baylor Bears Saturday, falling by a 12-3 final score at the UCF Softball Complex.

The Knights fell behind early and couldn’t recover, as Baylor jumped out to a 9-0 advantage through the first three innings.

The Black and Gold managed a response in the home half of the third, plating a pair of runs on a Bears fielding error that occurred with the bases loaded, and an infield RBI single by third baseman Coco Jaimes in the fifth inning trimmed Baylor’s advantage to six.

The Bears halted UCF’s comeback bid there, though, holding the Knights scoreless for the remainder of the afternoon while adding their final three scores in the sixth and seventh innings.

The defeat marked only the sixth of the season for UCF, as the Knights still enter Sunday’s series finale at 23-6 through their first 29 games, including an 18-3 mark through their first 21 home games.
