ORLANDO- For the second consecutive season, the UCF Track and Field 4x400-meter relay squad has secured a spot in the NCAA Indoor Championships.

The four Knights who qualified to represent the Black and Gold are Janiah Pulliam, Genelle Stephens, Twaneise Johnson and Jazmen Newberry, who will take the track Saturday, March 14 at 6:40 p.m.

The team returns to the Randal Tyson Track Center, the same venue that hosted the Tyson Invitational earlier this season on Feb. 14. In that meet the squad secured their qualifying mark, clocking a time of 3:29.21. The relay team hopes its familiarity with the track will translate to another strong performance.

At the Tyson Invitational, the Knights shattered the program record and currently rank 14th in Division I. The team carried that momentum into the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships in Lubbock, Texas, on Feb. 28, clocking a time of 3:32.85 to take home fifth.

Last year, UCF’s relay team earned the program’s second-ever Second Team All-American award. The recognition marked coach Dana Boone’s first All-American honor in the event while at UCF. Newberry and Johnson return to the national stage after helping secure last year’s All-American finish.

The NCAA Indoor Championships will mark the Knights’ final indoor competition before transitioning to the outdoor season.
