Armour Selected to Compete in USA Volleyball's National Team Collegiate Training Program

by Katharyn Gregory

ORLANDO- Junior Avah Armour has been selected to take part in the U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team Collegiate Training. The program will take place February 19-22 and include 60 to 72 collegiate athletes who will train with professionals in different workshops to strengthen their abilities. It will be located in the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

In just her third season with the Knights, the outside hitter surpassed the 500-point-milestone, becoming the 12th in the program's history to do so. She was named an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Honorable Mention All-American, securing the spot as the ninth Knight to earn the honor.

The training program creates an opportunity for potential to be considered for the National Team Development Program (NTDP) and the Women’s National Team. The prestigious program is invite-only, typically choosing the standout picks from the vast selection of collegiate athletes. Run by the WNT staff for women’s collegiate athletes, it serves as the only training opportunity held before the summer international season.

Armour’s season-average was a remarkable 4.35 kills per set, ranking 32nd nationally and seventh in conference. The junior elevated her skills during the season and set new records for the Black and Gold. She placed fourth in the Big 12 in points per set during league matches (3.75) and recorded double-digit kills in 26 of 29 matches.

The Colorado native had traveled to her home state during the 2025 season to take on the Buffaloes in a five-set contest on Thursday, October 2. Armour tallied 30 kills against the host team and became one of 18 Knights to hit the amount in program history. She secured both of the set-winning kills, leading the team to their own season highs as well.

The outside hitter will serve as a key Knight ahead of the 2026 season. The skills she learns during the program will continue to be developed by head coach Matt Botsford as the Knights prepare for the fall.
