WACO, Texas – Back in the win column after being out of it for just one day, the No. 9 men’s tennis team secured a 4-0 win over the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos in the Hawkins Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday night.

The Knights opened play in doubles, securing the point in dominant fashion and continuing their winning ways in singles, claiming three singles matches in straight sets.

Sticking with their familiar pairings, Paul Colin and Yassine Dlimi were first off the court, taking court one 6-3. Moments later, Nicolas Oliveira and Luca Hotze clinched the doubles point on court three with a 6-4 victory. UCF now improves to 7-2 in doubles points this season.

Singles play brought more of the same. Sophomore Oliveira struck quickly on court six, taking down his Gaucho opponent 6-2, 6-2.

Just minutes later, junior Wissam Abderrahman dominated on court two, cruising to a 6-1, 6-1 win.

With the sweep in sight, senior Colin sealed the match on court five, closing out a 6-1, 7-5 victory to lock in the Knights’ 4-0 result.
