WACO, Texas - The No. 9 men’s tennis team dropped its first match of the season against No. 19 Baylor in the first round of the ITA Indoor National Championship.
The Knights win streak has come to an end at 8-0, matching the program high that was set last season. The Black and Gold fall to the No. 19 Bears, a victory that marks the second top-10 win of the week for Baylor.
UCF could not find its footing in doubles, dropping matches on courts two and three.
It was much of the same in singles as Knights Yassine Dlimi and Clement Lemire dropped their matches in straight sets on courts one and six respectively.
All eyes turned to Paul Colin on court five who dropped his match in heartbreaking tiebreak fashion.
The Knights will now face either UC Santa Barbara or No. 3 Wake Forest depending on the result of their match.
