ORLANDO – After a dominant victory over in-state foe Florida State last week, the UCF women’s tennis team has held strong at No. 25 in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, as announced Wednesday evening.

The squad was last in action on Jan. 30 in Tallahassee, Fla., where they took a dominant 4-1 victory over the Florida State Seminoles.
The Knights jumped out to an early lead by securing the doubles point. The No. 54-ranked pairing of Lauren Seye and Olivia Bergler set the tone with a swift 6-1 win, before Marina Gatell and Daryna Shoshyna clinched the point with a 6-3 victory.
The Seminoles evened the score at 1-1 after a victory on court four to open singles play; however, Bergler swung things back in favor of the Black and Gold, jumping out to a 6-1 lead over 44th-ranked Millie Bissett before she was forced to retire with UCF leading 3-2 in the second set. The decisive point followed soon after, as freshman Gatell sealed the win on court three, posting a 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 victory over No. 96 Laura Putz.
The Feb. 11 poll marks the 17th straight that UCF has appeared in, ranking No. 20 on Feb. 12, 2025, and most recently checking in at No. 25. The Knights are one of just two Big 12 programs featured in the most recent rankings, joined by Oklahoma State, which ranked No. 12. The full Feb. 11 ITA rankings can be seen below.
LOOKING AHEAD
The squad will return to action this Friday, Feb. 13, in Miami, where they will face FIU at 1 PM, before traveling up to Coral Gables to take on Miami at 1 PM on Sunday, Feb. 15.
