Her efforts led the Golden Eagles to back-to-back 3C2A State Championships, producing 56 kills and five aces during their three-match domination to retain the title, and, in the process, garnering Albiez an MVP honor.
The 6-foot talent had already shown remarkable promise in 2024 during her freshman slate, authoring 379 kills (2.96 per set) and nearly 450 points to become a key piece in the first of two state championships for Feather River State Community College.
With nearly 1,000 kills combined across just two seasons, Albiez will complement another AVCA honoree in rising senior Avah Armour, who was tabbed an All-American after securing All-Big 12 First Team honors.
Why UCF? - “I chose UCF because of the amazing coaching staff, the team, and the competitive environment!”
Not only will Albiez's prowess on the court help build upon a strong foundation in Orlando, but the future Knight also boasted a 68-8 record across her two years in California, providing a winning attitude to a UCF squad that already showed the fourth-best year-to-year RPI improvement in the nation.
For Botsford, this marks the second time in just three years that he has welcomed a former AVCA Two-Year College Player of the Year, as during his final slate at FGCU, he featured Barbara Koehler, who had previously won the honor at Florida Southwestern in 2022.
