Volleyball Signs AVCA Two-Year College National Player of the Year Chloe Albiez to 2026 Roster

ORLANDO - As head coach Matt Botsford and his staff announced their fourth addition to their incoming Class of 2026 earlier this week, inking Elena Dibbs-Frantz, their sights moved to securing the signature of one of the nation's emerging talents.

Announced Friday afternoon, UCF volleyball has signed Chloe Albiez, the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Year for two-year colleges.

The Feather River College product and California native separated herself as the division's best athlete during her sophomore season, tallying 513 kills (4.28 per set) while hitting .293 and amassing 599 points.

Chloe is the perfect addition to our roster as she brings in a lot of valuable experience to go along with a well-rounded skillset that allows her to play the entirety of the game. She is a dynamic athlete that is used to being a high-volume attacker but has equally impressive skills in the back court. Chloe has a great understanding of how to impact the flow of a match, and because of her versatility, can do it in so many different ways. Above all else, what really stands out is the kind of competitor and worker she is. We want individuals in our gym that are accustomed to and can appreciate the hard work that goes into building successful teams. Chloe understands that concept, and a lot of her successes can be attributed to her commitment to that idea.

Her efforts led the Golden Eagles to back-to-back 3C2A State Championships, producing 56 kills and five aces during their three-match domination to retain the title, and, in the process, garnering Albiez an MVP honor.

The 6-foot talent had already shown remarkable promise in 2024 during her freshman slate, authoring 379 kills (2.96 per set) and nearly 450 points to become a key piece in the first of two state championships for Feather River State Community College.

With nearly 1,000 kills combined across just two seasons, Albiez will complement another AVCA honoree in rising senior Avah Armour, who was tabbed an All-American after securing All-Big 12 First Team honors.

Why UCF? - “I chose UCF because of the amazing coaching staff, the team, and the competitive environment!”

Not only will Albiez's prowess on the court help build upon a strong foundation in Orlando, but the future Knight also boasted a 68-8 record across her two years in California, providing a winning attitude to a UCF squad that already showed the fourth-best year-to-year RPI improvement in the nation.

For Botsford, this marks the second time in just three years that he has welcomed a former AVCA Two-Year College Player of the Year, as during his final slate at FGCU, he featured Barbara Koehler, who had previously won the honor at Florida Southwestern in 2022.
