ORLANDO – The No. 24 UCF women’s tennis team opened the 2026 season in an emphatic fashion Sunday afternoon at the USTA National Campus, rolling past South Florida, 4-1.
After dropping the doubles point, the Citronauts answered with a dominant showing in singles, winning four straight matches to secure the victory. The win also extended UCF’s home winning streak at the USTA National Campus to 14 straight.
Daryna Shoshyna and Marina Gatell gave the ‘Nauts an early spark in doubles with a 6-3 victory on court two. Meanwhile, South Florida responded with a 6-3 win over Jantje Tilbuerger and Hannah Rylatt, evening the doubles slate. On court three, Vladislava Andreevskaya and Olivia Bergler battled through a tightly contested match, but the Bulls claimed the point with a 7(9)-6(7) tiebreak win.
