ORLANDO – Jada Silvest found the back of the net in the first half and the senior Rajanah Reed scored in the second half to lead UCF to a 2-1 victory over No. 10 Baylor in front of a season-high 1,102 fans at the UCF Soccer Complex on Thursday night.
The Knights are now unbeaten in their last seven games and move to 10-2-4 overall and 4-1-4 in Big 12 play with just two regular season matches remaining. BU falls to 11-3-2 on the year and 6-3-0 in league play with the setback.
The contest marked Senior Knight for UCF, as six Black and Gold seniors—Hannah Boughton, Kayla Chatman-Haggerty, Haylee Mersereau, Payton Patrick, Rajanah Reed and Liz Worden—were honored prior to the contest.
“We had a lot to play for tonight, and obviously had a little bit of emphasis on the seniors. Even though the senior class hasn’t been with us very long as they are all transfers, they have contributed so much to this program. They will definitely leave a legacy here at UCF,” head UCF coach Tiffany Roberts Sahaydak said.
After withstanding an early flurry of shots and chances for the Bears, the Knights opened the scoring in the 38th minute. Worden played a corner kick to Honoka Hamano and Hamano crossed it into the box to the far post for Silvest. The UCF center back was there to drill the ball into the back of the net for her first collegiate goal.

There were no more shots the rest of the half, as the Black and Gold took a 1-0 advantage into the break.
With Baylor having taken a trio of shots in the early stages of the second half, the Knights’ Reed beat the defense down the field in the 57th minute to extend UCF’s lead to 2-0 in the 57th minute. Captain Maria Tregansin headed the ball near midfield to Reed and the senior speedster beat the Bear defense down the field and finished with a strike from the top of the box over BU’s Azul Alvarez. The goal marked Reed’s team-leading sixth of the season.

The Bears responded a minute later with a left-footed goal from Tyler Isgrig to make it a 2-1 score.
BU attempted to put the pressure on and looked for the tying goal by getting off six shots down the stretch, but the Black and Gold defense and keeper Genesis Perez Watson managed to hold strong to pull out the victory.
Perez Watson moved to 10-2-4 on the season in goal by tying her season-high in saves with seven.
Despite pulling out the victory, BU outshot UCF 19-9 and 8-4 on goal. Isgrig paced the Bears with seven shots, while Worden led the Knights with four and Reed followed with three. Hamano, Worden and Tregansin all recorded assists on the night for the Black and Gold.
The result marked UCF’s second win on the season over a ranked opponent, as it previously defeated No. 17 Arizona State on Sept. 28. Baylor entered Thursday’s match ranked fourth nationally in the RPI, 10th by Top Drawer Soccer, and 16th by the United Soccer Coaches.
“This is what our standard should be,” Roberts Sahaydak added. “This is how we should look in every game and how motivated we need to be. I’m glad that we were able to have that feeling and achieve this result. It was a great win and hopefully we can continue to do so moving forward.”
UCF is now 4-0-3 over its last seven matches.
The Knights will play their final home game of the 2025 season on Monday at 1 p.m. against BYU. UCF will then close its regular season next Thursday at No. 3 Texas Tech. The 2025 Big 12 Soccer Tournament presented by Allstate will then take place on Nov. 3-8 at both TCU and Baylor.
