CHARLESTON, S.C. – The UCF women’s golf team wrapped up play at the Cougar Classic by jumping up a spot in the leaderboard to finish in fourth place on Tuesday afternoon at Yeamans Hall Club.
The field was loaded with national contenders, including six SEC programs, five from the ACC and two from the Big Ten. Among them were Ole Miss, Florida, LSU and Auburn—all ranked in the Golf Channel’s preseason top 25. UCF, which entered the tournament ranked No. 27, proved it could compete with some of the nation’s best by securing a top 5 finish.
Ole Miss finished in first place winning the title outright as the Rebels were the only team to post three rounds under par (-18).
For the Knights, Molly Smith and Pimpisa Sisutham paced the lineup, each finishing tied for 12th at 211 (-2). Sisutham delivered a clutch final round, firing a two-under-par score to soar 21 spots up the leaderboard. Smith capped her tournament with a steady 72 (+1).
Freshman Mila Jurine showed promise in her first collegiate event, jumping six spots on the final day to place 34th with a 215 (+2), highlighted by birdies on holes No. 1 and 18.
Rounding out the lineup, Kinga Kusmierska placed 42nd and Tiffany Tsai finished 49th after each carded a 77 (+6) in the closing round.
The Knights now turn their focus to the Schooner Invitational, hosted by Oklahoma, September 20–22 at Belmar Golf Club in Norman, Oklahoma.
